Nobody starts out as a superstar. Nobody. That’s why everybody needs to find a talent agency, and put in the necessary effort if they want to get famous. That’s the only way, no matter what anybody says. Luckily, therefore requiring representation can really help you to open up those doors. But you have to be ready to open them.

First things first, why do you need representation? Well you need to have somebody that can actually find your opportunities. If you don’t have that connection made, you won’t even know about auditions in the first place.

Normally, everybody has to audition for work in some way. Whether it be through literally going to an audition. Or sometimes companies go through OST to request head shots for jobs.

In either case, you first need the representation so that you can get your foot in the door. This way when jobs come up, you’ll at least be considered. That gives you the chance to find meaningful employment.

You also need to hone your craft. That means working in the field. Experience is the best possible way to learn more about the industry. So look for any jobs that you can, no matter what they may be.

If you want to be an actor some day, find ways that you can get yourself on set. If you can hold the camera, or hold the light, even if you’re just helping to set up microphones, at least you’re working. All of that looks great on a resume, because it shows you have a passion.

Models have to pay many of the same dues. Everybody likes a team player. They’re easier to work with, and usually have been around the block. By volunteering to undertake any task behind the camera, you give yourself a better chance.

You have to think of this like a career. One Source Talent can help you find opportunities, but you always have to pay your dues first. If you’re not taking that step, then you’re never going to get anywhere.
