Amos and Andy DVD is a collection of one of America’s first comedy series. The series was funny and well-loved by the general audience because of its good comical storyline and raw humor. It was very popular in the early days of the twentieth century until all throughout the 1950’s.
The series were created and produced for the radio listeners by Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll. The television series, however, had to have a black cast. The two were then not taken for the television version of the story.
The radio comedy series began in the early 1920’s. It took, however, about four years to have the television show running. This was because of casting problems on the part of the production team. The actors who played the characters on the radio were white people who were versatile and experienced with comedy roles.
The plot revolves around two men, namely Amos Jones and Andy Brown. These roles were played by actors Tim Moore and Spencer Williams respectively. None could ever forget the humor that these people brought to the general audience. It was raw and surprising and downright comical.
The storyline is set in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. It is a suitable setting for a black American story, since Atlanta is a city with a greater black American population. The first parts of the story talk about the two main characters planning to find a better quality of life in Chicago. They would then go through with their plans even if their friend warned them that life in there would be hard for them.
The entire story then revolves on their hardest and craziest experiences that they went through while they strive for better living in Chicago, trying to make the most out of life in the said city.
All these funny things are brought life once again in the latest Amos and Andy DVD collection series. The episodes are carefully transferred and underwent digital remastering for the general audience to enjoy. Read more about: amos and andy dvd
