You might not have been born when it first started as a radio comedy series. That was way back in the 1920s. When it first broadcast in 1928, the creators probably never thought that it would be turned into a television show and then be on an Amos and Andy DVD.
Going back in time is not yet possible. But, as you look at the black and white picture in front of you, you might find yourself thinking of how it was back in the days. On how everything seemed so simple. At how you had nothing to worry about.
That would be understandable because you might have been a wee child when it first hit the tube. You might watch an episode then find yourself transported back into the 50s. You might even have watched it as you drank lemonade. Or, as you ate the cookies your grandma baked for you.
The entire family might have watched it together, even. This provided for a good way to bond. Watching something funny on TV that was clean both in language and situations made it suitable for kids to watch.
Fast forward to today. With the different sitcoms on TV, you realize that this particular show might have been a strong influence. There is nothing slapstick about it. It is meant to be funny in a different way. It could be the circumstance. It could be the conversation. Whichever one it used in a scene, it had to be understood to elicit laughter.
Now, there have been leaps of advancement in technology. Most of the shows were on tapes. They can be reformatted. And the new format may even provide ways to reproduce and redistribute it to the public for easy access.
It might have started on the airwaves. But, now it has certainly traveled a long way. It was on TV and it might have been one of the funniest sitcoms. Even if it is still not possible to travel back in time, you can try to relive those days. Revisit your childhood. Laugh as you watch an Amos and Andy DVD. Read more about: amos and andy dvd
